PRS Senadin extends helping hand to elderly man

KUCHING: Several members of Party Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) from the Senadin branch visited an elderly man in Tudan recently and handed over a small contribution to the family.

There are actually many families residing in the areas that are in need of assistance, PRS committee member Pungga Janin, representing Tudan Perdana branch, said.

“However, due to our limitation we could only render some small assistance to those who are really in dire needs.

“As in this case, we are only able to assist Siba Payan who is semi-paralysed and the condition of his dilapidated house is self-explanatory,” Pungga said in a statement here yesterday.

He said there were cases where they were still unaware of the many assistance provided by the government such as ‘e-kasih’ or other assistance from the welfare department.

“While there are others who are aware but dare not approach the relevant departments.

“Like in many other cases, after knowing their condition, we would normally assist them to apply for the necessary assistance from the relevant departments,” said Pungga.

Among those present were PRS Senadin division secretary Egi King and several other party members from the Tudan Perdana branch.
