TRUSAN: Senior citizens should still continue serving the community, especially in sharing ideas and guiding the younger generation to develop Lawas district.

Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agung said the lifelong experience of senior citizens ought to be shared and imparted to the younger generation.

“The fruits of development enjoyed by the people today were the result of close cooperation and commitment established for centuries by the older generation.   “This positive cooperation needs to be nurtured to ensure continuity of progress and development for Lawas district,” he said during a pre-Chinese New Year gathering on Friday organised by the Trusan Senior Citizens Service Centre (PPWE).

Henry said unity is also crucial to the overall development of Lawas district and the country.

He praised PPWE for its continuous efforts to carry out various activities to enhance closer rapport and understanding among members and also the local community.
