KUCHING: Miri’s own Country Road Band will be taking centre stage at the upcoming Miri Country Music Fest.
The band, which had been in existence for more than 30 years, will be performing together with other renowned country music bands at the festival, which will be staged at Parkcity Everly Hotel in Miri this coming Feb 15.
Made up of vocalist Raymond on guitar, Tony (bass and vocal), Eugene (slide, lead guitar and vocal), Dedeaq (lead guitar) and Kiss on drums, the Country Road Band is a household name in the country music scene in Miri. The band also performs regularly in Labuan and Brunei Darussalam.
The Country Road Band will be joining Hi Breed from Kuching, Mel & Joe (Singapore), Corn Cake King (Kuala Lumpur), D’Renegades (Kota Kinabalu), Wandering Mustangs (Singapore), Eia and the Superband (Brunei Darussalam) and Johnny Rodgers Band (Nashville, USA) to take the stage.
Held for the first time, the festival is supported by Parkcity Everly Hotel, the US Embassy, Planet Borneo Travel and Tours Services, Sarawak Tourism Board and Curtin University Sarawak. It is also endorsed by Miri City Council.

Tickets are priced at RM80 for adults and RM40 for children aged between three and 12. The ticket is inclusive of one drink for adults and one soft drink or ice cream for children.
Various interesting programmes had been lined up for the music fest and this include the country music concert, games and competition for adults and children, line-dance and drum workshops, country music workshops and food stalls. The day’s programme will start at 2pm.
