KUCHING: During chinese new year, gambling activity raid operations carry out by the police department, Kuching state police D7 group flew into Bintulu to raid a temporary gambling den, succesfully arrested 19 people, confiscated 92,000 ringgit cash and gambling equipment.
The group of policeman under the supervise of assistant inspector raidded the den around 9.30p.m 2 days ago.
Detained 19 people, including 6 women, where 3 is from China, with another guy from China.
Gambles were later escorted to Bintulu police station to pass to Bintulu police department to handle. They were expected to be release on bail, and wait for the police charges against them in court.
The police will investigate the case under the Betting Act 1953, gambling in public places.
