PBSM volunteer to reach out for Tutong flood victim

Tutong: To ease the difficulties faced by the flood victims, the Red Crescent Society of Tutong District (PBSM) recently volunteered to help out. Haji Salleh bin Othman, the Director of (PBSM) and Assistant Director of the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society (BDRCS); and Haji Malik bin Haji Imbran, Assistant Director of PBSM and the Director of Disaster Management who was leading the team,©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.

On duty officers and members of the association coordinated the relief efforts with the District Disaster Management Centre between January 23 and February 1 at the Community Hall of Tanjong Maya and Tanjong Maya Religious School.

This was aimed for assisting other agencies which includes the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Fire and Rescue Department, Community Development Department, as well as cooperating with other volunteer organization such as Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) and Gemilang.

The contributions included bottled water, meal packs and basic dry food to the residents of Mukim Tanjong Maya and Mukim Ukong.

When floodwaters began decreasing, volunteers continued to help out by cleaning the houses of the victims including Cikgu Jamil bin Kassim of Kg Sebakit Bawah and Yahya bin Haji Musa.
