MIRI: Lopeng Fire Station held a farewell do for senior fire officer II Abdul Latip Kassim yesterday.

Fire station chief Supt Eddy Zulkifli Abdullah said the event aimed to acknowledge Abdul Latip’s effort and hard work.

“Our friend Abdul Latip has been transferred to Miri Fire Station and today’s event is to show our appreciation for all the good things he has done with us here over the past years,” he said.

The station also performed the tepung tawar ceremony on its new fire engine.

“We are indeed happy that we have been given a new fire engine, which costs RM1.71 million. It would be very beneficial to all of us in helping us work more efficiently,” said Eddy.

Meanwhile, Abdul Latif said he was overwhelmed by the support he received from his colleagues and would continue to serve the community for as long as he could.

He has served at Lopeng Fire Station since 2008.
