MIRI: More than 100 pupils of SK Kampung Luak participated in its jogathon organised by the school’s parent-teacher-association (PTA) yesterday.

Assistant Minister of Sports Datuk Lee Kim Shin flagged off the jogathon aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation.

“A healthy lifestyle means being fit physically, be energetic as well as have a healthy mind,” he said.

Lee also added that promoting exercising from an early age and making it a daily habit will convey to the younger generation the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

At the same time, jogathons also promote a spirit of togetherness especially during funds collection time, he said.

“The process of collecting funds will help build a sense of belonging among the pupils and parents,” he noted.

At the event, Lee also announced an allocation of RM5,000 for the school to improve its drainage system and for the school’s PTA to conduct its annual activities.

Among those present at the jogathon were SK Kampung Luak PTA president Norsarihan Ahmad and the school’s headmaster, Sabtu Matali.
