MIRI: A businessman in his 70s incurred about RM800 in losses after two of his houses at Eatons Hill Pujut Padang Kerbau were broken into yesterday.

It was understood that the victim had gone to check the two houses yesterday morning and found that the front doors of the two houses were open and upon further checking, he found out that a few items had gone missing.

Among them were toilet fittings such as shower heads and toilet bowls.

Police are investigating.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, a 23-year-old housewife yesterday claimed that her Identity Card (IC) had gone missing after she went to check on the status of her 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) application at the civic centre here yesterday.

She said she gave her IC to one of the workers for them to check on her application status, but the worker did not return her IC to her.

“When they said my application is approved and that I am entitled to receive the RM650 aid, I was happy. But when I asked them to give my IC back, the worker said he had lost it,” the housewife said when met at Miri Central Police Station yesterday.
