Maid robbed by armed man

MIRI: An Indonesian maid, in her 20s, was robbed by a man at a double-storey house in Desa Pujut 2, Permyjaya at about 3.30pm on Monday.

Masked and armed with a vegetable knife, the suspect entered the house from the backdoor when the victim was alone with her employers’ child.

Miri deputy police chief, Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit when contacted yesterday said there were four suspects in the case, but only one of them entered the house.

Three others, believed to be the first suspect’s accomplices were waiting outside the gate.

“The suspect took a pair of gold earrings worth about RM200 from the maid and some cash, including foreign currency,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 395 for armed robbery.
