SIBU: The term of service of 12 Chinese community leaders here has been extended for two more years.
Pemanca Wong Kie Yik, Penghulu Yong King Bing, Penghulu Wong Teck Ho, Penghulu Kong Sen Leau, Penghulu Soon Choon Hoo, Penghulu Chieng Sia Tiong, Penghulu Ten Kim Loong, Penghulu Teng Swee Ho, Penghulu Tiong Tung Uh, Penghulu Wong Tung Sing, Penghulu Ting Teck Kai and Penghulu Ling Leh Ing received their letters of reappointment yesterday from Sibu Resident Sim Kok Kee.
The ceremony was by Local Government and Community Development Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh.
Temenggong Vincent Lau, Sibu Municipal Council chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King and political secretary to the chief minister Pau Kiew Chuan were also at the presentation ceremony.
