Rep: Give your undivided support to Adenan

MIRI: The people in upper Baram are urged to give their undivided support to the state government which will be led by in-coming chief minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau, in giving this reminder said the local people should work with the new chief minister to realize the aspiration of transforming Telang Usan as a new township in Baram a reality.

“The people should accept the transfer of leadership from Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud to Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem.

“Adenan has been given the trust by Taib to lead the state. Therefore, the people should be given similar support to him,” he said at the meet-the-people session in Long Seridan near here yesterday.

Dennis added that political stability was a vital factor in enabling the country and state to move ahead.

“For the good of Baram and the state in general, we must continue to subscribe to the needs for political stability. All development agenda planned for Baram are for the good of the younger generation.”

On efforts to make Telang Usan into a new township, Dennis said this would speed up the economic transformation of the Baram

Later at the same function, he presented MRP grants of RM5,000 each to Long Bedian village development and safety committee (JKKK), Long Bedian SIB church and Parent-Teacher Association of SK Long Bedian.

He also announced a RM2,000 MRP grant each to three Penan villages.

Pemanca Philip Lakai Tuan, Penghulu Freddie Abun Tadam and Cr Jok Ngau were among community leaders present at the session.
