Pensioner feels short-changed by BR1M

MARUDI: Pensioner Mohidi Matzin claims he only received 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) 3.0 of RM450 in his bank account on Feb 22.

The 61-year-old, who is married, said he was unhappy and dissatisfied with the amount because he qualifies to receive the full RM650.

“I am questioning the amount as my monthly pension is only RM1,200,” he told The Borneo Post Thursday.

He called on the Inland Revenue Board to check through its list of qualified recipients carefully so that recipients are given the correct amount that they qualify for.

“I am not complaining but would like to inform that as a pensioner with a small pension, I have received RM450 but I am actually qualified for RM650,” he said.

Mohidin also thanked the government for providing BR1M to the people to help relieve their financial burden.

Under Budget 2014, aid of RM650 would be given to households with incomes of less than RM3,000 a month, while single individuals would receive RM300.

In addition, RM450 would be given to households with incomes between RM3,000 and RM4,000 a month.
