No discrimination in services – Jainab

KOTA KINABALU: The government rendered its services to all without any discrimination to any quarters irrespective of their race, religion, gender or ethnicity, Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Hajah Jainab Ahmad said.

She said the government would also ensure equal treatment to all races in terms of development.

Jainab gave the assurance during a dinner reception organised by Junior Chambers International (Intan) Sabah branch here yesterday.

Also present were JCI Intan Sabah chairperson Sabrina Melisa Aripen, former chairperson Lenore Beverly Lee and members of JCI Intan.

She said the duty to develop a nation lies with the government with cooperation from the public and private sectors, corporate sector as well as various non-governmental organizations (NgOs) and the people.

“The strategic alliance between the government, corporate bodies and JCI Intan is very important to help the target groups in need of support and encouragement from all sides,” said Jainab .

According to her, the unity in diversity has assisted the government in developing the country and also maintaining the peace and harmony among the people of the various races and religious backgrounds.

Jainab also stressed the importance of the role of parents in nation-building, saying that parents and children are interdependent to develop a happy, united and prosperous family institution.
