KUCHING: Kuching Padungan Community Association honorary advisor Wong Tiong Hook said the association had contributed much to improve public facilities and solve peoples’ problems.

He said this at the association’s 11th anniversary and Chinese New Year (CNY) dinner here recently.

He said as the association worked closely with the government agencies, they could help the residents to solve their problems and improve their living environment.

He urged the members to stay united to serve the people better.

Besides that he said, the association would plan for environment preservation and cultural activities for the residents to participate.

He also complimented the association for its contribution to Chinese education.

Also present was vice-consul general of The People’s Republic of China in Kuching Liu Dongyuan who welcome more Malaysians to trade in China.

Liu said last year Malaysia had become the third biggest Asian trade partner of China after Japan and Korea.

The economic relation had created many opportunities to both countries.
