KUCHING: The Sarawak Cat Show 2014 saw six cats parade in local costumes at the closing ceremony at Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Auditorium, Cat Museum, Bukit Siol here yesterday.

In the Costume Cat Show, top cat Mimi was attired in a traditional Baju Kebaya while Omet in Baju Punjab was in second place and Lailai in a Baju Kurung, third.

“This is the fourth time of running the Sarawak Cat Show since the first in 2010. This year’s theme is ‘Sayangi dan Sanjungi Kucing Sarawak’,” Datuk Bandar of Kuching North  Datuk Abang Wahab Abang Julai said when he officiated at the closing of the cat show.

Abang Wahab said the cat show was participated by cat lovers from Sri Aman, Sibu, Miri and Kuching.

This year’s cat show features the personal collection of the late Dr Betty Jamie Cheung of Hong Kong who bequeathed 517 cat-related items to the Cat Museum upon her death.

Minister of Tourism and Housing, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg’s wife Datin Amar Jumaani Tuanku Bujang also attended the closing ceremony.
