KOTA KINABALU: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) president Datuk Teo Chee Kang said he will not be disturbed by the political stunt of Datuk Liew Vui Keong who held a party special conference (EGM) and elections in Sandakan on March 29.

During the purported EGM and election, Liew was ‘re-elected’ as the president of LDP whereas Datuk Pang Yuk Ming was ‘elected’ as the deputy president.

“I will not allow myself to be disturbed by this political stunt,” said Teo.

“Therefore, I do not see it necessary to comment except that the party’s assemblyman who was ‘elected’ in absentia will have to clarify whether he consented to be ‘nominated’ and ‘elected’ in the purported party elections held in Sandakan on March 29,” he said in a press statement issued yesterday.

It was reported that 322 party members from 31 divisions in the State attended the event called by Liew’s faction in Sandakan on Saturday. Liew was the guest of honour of the event.

Besides Liew and Pang, four vice presidents, 15 supreme council members, Youth and Wanita chiefs and committee members were purportedly ‘elected’ for the term 2013 to 2018.
