MIRI: A number of road upgrading and improvement projects will be implemented in Tudan this year.

Assistant Minister of Communications Datuk Lee Kim Shin said the project listed under the Kampung Road Project would be implemented this year. It is a link road from Tudan Phase 5 resettlement to Permyjaya (E-mart Commercial Centre).

“The link road will help to ease the traffic flows in Permyjaya and Tudan main road, particularly during peak hours.

“There are some sections of Tudan main road that face congestion as everyone from the resettlement scheme uses it to get to and going out from it,” he said during a site visit to Tudan Resettlement Scheme here  yesterday.

Lee added that RM1.2 million had been allocated for the project, and that includes road upgrading and improvement work.

The link road, he said, would cost RM400,000, and initial earth-filling would be carried out soon.

The length of the proposed Tudan link road is about 500 metres from Tudan Phase 5.

Lee later revealed that a number of roads in the resettlement scheme would also be upgraded and improved under Kampung Road Project grants this year.

“For the safety and comfort of the people in the settlement scheme, including areas under Senadin constituency, I will lobby for more allocation to provide and improve infrastructure such as roads and drain.”
