SIBU: An inter-school cooking competition held at the Science & Technology Education Carnival at SMK Kpg Nangka ended yesterday with the host school taking the champion title.

Teacher-in-charge of champion team Loh Tze Hoon said the school team had not won by chance.

“We have been preparing for this competition since January. Our team members trained hard and prayed hard,” she recalled.

The team comprises Anne Alicia Liok, Marceila Suzie Ambrose and Nellie Chong.

Loh said they had learned much from their experience in last year’s competition.

“Last year, we were also the champion,” she enthused.

Other activities of the carnival included an exhibition of understanding and skills in
solar car, solar boat and aerospace.

A total of 24 secondary schools in Sibu District took part in the two-day carnival organised by SMK Kpg Nangka in collaboration with the Education Department.

William Anut represented the Education Department at the prize-giving.
