MIRI: Eliza Feisol emerged as champion of the Voice Star English singing competition in the grand finale held at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall on Friday night to showcase young and promising entertainers.

She captivated the hearts of the audience and impressed the judges who gave her the championship trophy.

In the karaoke round, Eliza sang eloquently to showcase her vocal prowess in the song ‘Wrecking Ball’. But more impressively, in the acoustic round, she ‘wowed’ the audience with ‘My Heart Will Go On’ which was given top marks by the judges, eventually clinching top spot.

Christina Huang took the runner-up title while Eric Rawing finished third.

The seven consolation prize winners were Vivian Wong, Monica Pandie, Clara Wong, Lim Sian Sing, Ben Chong, Tommy Ling and Joseph Tie.

In the subtitle categories, Eric Rawing won the Best Stage Performance award while Christina Huang took the Best Dress award.

For the final round of the Voice Star English singing competition, each finalist was required to sing two songs in two different versions, namely karaoke and acoustic.

A total of 10 contestants participated in the final round which was declared open by SUPP central publicity secretary Datuk Sebastian Ting.

In his welcoming speech, he said a competition of this nature was a very good way to promote singing interest among the youths.

“When you see singers express their feelings, they express their passions. This is what makes them feel so happy, that they are able to come here to sing and share their happiness of singing, and I must say this is splendid,” he enthused.

The singing competition was among the entertainment activities lined up in the four-day Miri Trade Fair 4 being held at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall and The Imperial Mall.

It was organised by the Junior Chamber International Lutong (JCI Lutong) and has been endorsed as one of the events in the Miri May Festival.
