Youth Internet portal holding first carnival of the year

KUCHING: Youth internet portal OurYouth.my is holding the 4th Youth Carnival next weekend (May 10 & 11) at Le’ Park here.

Last year, three Youth Carnivals were held and this one is the first for this year. The last carnival attracted over 1,000 youths and the general public.

“The objective is to create and promote healthy lifestyle, sportsmanship and teamwork amongst the youth through sports recreation. Among the events are 3-on-3 basketball, futsal, volleyball, skateboarding and remote car control competition,” said OurYouth.my director Dato Patrick Liew.

Closing date for registration is by 5pm on May 5.

The registration fee is RM20 per team for basketball, RM50 per team for futsal, RM20 per team for volleyball and RM80 for remote car control. The skateboarding/extreme sports is free participation.

Entry forms can be downloaded at www.ouryouth.my and the completed forms should be emailed to [email protected].

Liew said the expected number of participants are 20 basketball teams, 20 futsal teams, 40 volleyball teams and 50 participants for skateboarding.

The persons in charge are basketball (Tommy 016-2282293), futsal (Daniel 019-8885333), volleyball (Chai 016-8919889), skateboarding (Izuan 014-8818013), remote control car (Zulhadi 016-8090086) and OurYouth.my admin (082-242439).

The first to third prizes for basketball, futsal, basketball and skateboarding/extreme sports are RM400, RM300 and RM200 respectively.

The public will also get to watch BMX demo by two Sarawak atheletes at the carnival.
