SIBU: Seasoned golfer Wong Tung Ann outshone state champion Lee Ka Tung in a recent Sibu Golf Club-organised championship and emerged the 54-hole gross section champion.
Lau Ching Leong was third, followed by Ling Soon Kiong in fourth position and John Ling, fifth. Winston Lau came sixth.
In the nett section (36 holes), Major Baseri was the champion, followed by Bukhari Abdul Latif in second spot, Matthew Ha (third), Lawrence Nguoi (fourth) and Abdul Hadi (fifth). Abdul Hadi also grabbed a novelty prize for emerging winner in the first day gross while Wong Lay Nam took the prize for winning the second day gross.
The novelty prizes for first day nett and second day nett went to Pang Liong Hiat and Hii Nik Kiong respectively. Lee Yan Siong was the winner for the wooden spoon.
