At least 7 killed in S Korea bus terminal fire

GYEONGGI-DO: At least seven people were killed and 20 others injured on Monday when a fire broke out at a bus terminal in South Korea’s Gyeonggi province, Agencies reported.

According to Yonhap news agency, the blaze took place at about 9am in a construction site located at the basement of Goyang bus terminal.

Photos from local media showed thick black smoke billowing from the building.

CBS No Cut News said four fire engines and five ambulances were spotted at the scene, citing an eyewitness.

South Korean broadcaster SBS reported that the multi-storey bus terminal also housed other amenities such as a theatre and a supermarket.

Gyeonggi province is located at the area surrounding the capital Seoul. It is home to a variety of popular tourist destinations.
