MIRI: Those who are jobless and looking for job opportunities are invited to take advantage of the Azam Kerja Job Placement Programme organised by the Manpower Department here.
The programme will take place at Miri Indoor Stadium from 8am to 5pm on June 28.
The programme is brought back to provide opportunities for job seekers to find jobs and for employers to fill up vacancies in their companies,
said Miri Manpower Department senior assistant director Dorrhea Chua.
“This programme will help reduce the burden of employers who had to employ foreign workers to fill up vacancies meant for our local people,” she said in a press statement here yesterday.
The programme gave employers the opportunity to participate by setting up booths and conducting job interviews for potential employees at the venue.
Throughout the programme, the Manpower Department here, which is an agency under the Human Resource Ministry, will also be setting up an information counter for those who wish to make enquiries or need information or advice on labour laws.
JobsMalaysia will also be setting up a counter at the venue to enable job seekers and employers to register online with the agency. There will also be booths for open interviews and exhibitions by government agencies and non-government agencies.
The Open Interview Counter is set up in collaboration with employers and school leavers and graduates are encouraged to go directly to the counter for more information.
“Those interested to attend the open interview are advised to dress smartly and bring along the original and photocopies of their academics certificates,” said Chua.
