KUCHING: State Information Department deputy director Zaini Mohamad Zaini urged officers to maintain self discipline in life and at work.

“We do not stop officers from watching the World Cup football matches outside of working hours but you must make sure it will not affect your work,” he said at the Monthly Gathering at the Information Department headquarters here in Jalan Bako on Thursday.

Zaini also urged all officers to be creative and innovative in carrying out their daily tasks to achieve the best in work.

“You also need to uphold integrity, honesty and dedication,” he said, adding that it was also important to practice good values with highest dedication, be punctual and give focus on daily tasks to ensure Information Department stays ahead of other departments.

Zaini also reminded staff to not disclose any private and confidential information to other parties.

At the gathering, he also presented token of appreciation to officers on duty during the Prime Minister’s visit to Miri for the 1Malaysia Gawai Open House.

“I hope such great efforts will continue at the National-Level Speech Competition to be held in Miri from June 20 to 22,” he said.

Also present were heads of assistant directors, Kuching division Information officer, Aziz Abdul Rahman and Samarahan division Information, officer Aris Hipni.
