KUALA LUMPUR: The wife of Tajikistan President, Azizamoh Rahmon yesterday visited the Craft Complex in Jalan Conlay here.

Greeted by the Kraftangan Malaysia’s director of Corporate Communications Misroni Sulaiman, she spent about 40 minutes at the complex and was treated to a demonstration of songket-making and batik-painting by craft entrepreneurs.

She was also brought to view the Wedding Manifestation Heritage Craft Exhibition and the Heritage Crafts Through The Ages Exhibition at the complex.

President Emomali Sharipovich Rahmon and his wife, who are on an official four-day visit to Malaysia at the invitation of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, arrived at 7.15pm on Sunday.

The Tajikistan entourage also included Foreign Minister Aslov Sirodjidin, Economic and Trade Development Minister Rahimzoda Sharif, Education and Science Minister Said Nuriddin, senior government officers and corporate figures.

This was the Rahmon’s first state visit to Malaysia since diplomatic ties were established between Tajikistan and Malaysia in 1992. — Bernama
