MIRI: The media participating in the ‘Kembara Media 1Malaysia 2014’ to Bario should use the opportunity to get a wider perspective of the highlands and its pastures in order to write a story on it.

Communications Assistant Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin said this at a get-together held in conjunction with ‘Kembara Media 1Malaysia 2014’ at Mega Hotel here on Monday night.

“This is the opportunity to learn about the outside world, especially in the deep interior of our own place like Bario,” Lee said.

On another note, the Senadin assemblyman said the media fraternity should be more responsible in their reporting to gain the trust, confidence and respect of society.

“This is important as whatever you report, you show your true colour. A report written with bad intention to achieve an agenda would not bring any benefit to society,” he said.

Lee commended the Ministry of Information, Malaysia for organising the ‘Kembara Media’ to Bario. He hoped the team would have a fruitful trip.

Among those joining the gathering were Sarawak Information acting director Zaini Mohamad, Miri divisional RTM controller Ramli Junaidi, Miri-Bintulu Information officer Mohd Kaya Inggoh and Sarawak administrative officer Sebestian Itap.
