Work as a team, Ugak tells teachers

Ugak hands over the 1Malaysia laptop to the chairman of the Majlis Pengetua Sekolah Sekolah Menegah, Manggie Nyegang while Ringgit looks on.

KAPIT: Hulu Rajang Member of Parliament, Wilson Ugak Kumbong appealed to teachers serving in Kapit Division to co-operate with one another and with the people’s representatives for the sake of rural development.

“While I congratulate the successful PSKPP (Education Services Social, Welfare and Recreational Club) held in Kapit and participated by teachers from Song, Kapit and Belaga. I appeal to all teachers in Kapit Division to work as a team and closely co-operate with one another and also with the prople’s rep for the sake of accelerating rural development. It’s very important we work closely as a team in the government”, he said.

Ugak said teachers not only teach students in school, they also play a very important role in the community. Thus, it is very important they work closely together.

“As a people’s rep, I raise in parliament issues such as lack of infrastructure and amenities faced by the rural schools.

“Earlier, I visited one primary school in my Hulu Rajang constituency, SK Punan Bah. It was pitiful that six teachers squatted in one teacher’s quarter because of the lack of teacher’s quarter. I’ll continue to voice my concern for the need to further improve the facility in the rural schools”, he said at the closing of the PSKPP Kapit on Sun evening at Sri Baleh.

Ugak took the opportunity to thank the teachers during the last 13th General Election when told that many of them were appointed the polling agents in Baleh and Belaga.

At the function, he symbolically handed over the ‘I Malaysia Laptop’ to a teacher in his constituency Hulu Rajang.

The Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Malaysia, Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi officiated at the opening of PSKPP function.

Political secretaries to the Chief Minister Wilson Nyabong Ijang and Jefferson Jamit, Kapit Education Officer, Ringgit @ GawanSaut, Song Education Officer, Dali Rain and Belaga Education officer, Henruy Usat Bit were among some 500 teachers at the function.
