Mangit wins World Bidayuh Golf Championship

KUCHING: Seasoned campaigner Magit Semong won the 10th World Bidayuh Golf Championship at the Siol/Demak course of the Sarawak Golf Club here yesterday.

He carded 77 gross points to lift Datuk Seri Michael Manyin new challenge trophy. Robert Elone finished first runner-up with a total gross score of 81 and Lester Simbas came in third with a total gross score of 82.

Meanwhile, Andrew Ngisun won the DBNA President Challenge Trophy with a nett score of 64 while Jabing Bujing made 67 nett score to finish first runner-up in the category.

Ik Talano finished third with 69 nett score.

There were 10 gross prizes and 10 nett prizes up for grab at the one-day tournament.

A total of 75 golfers participated in the tournament organised by the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA).

Sarawak Infrastructure Development and Communication Minister and DBNA advisor Datuk Seri Michael Manyin Jawong presented the trophies and cash prizes. — Bernama
