SRI AMAN: Every Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) is reminded to prepare a village profile for their own reference or for related government agencies.

Assistant Minister of Housing and Rural Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis pointed out that a village profile should be submitted to the Resident’s Office or the District Office after compilation.

“The village profile should not be kept by the JKKK as it holds vital information that is needed for other agencies such as the Community Development Department (Kemas),” Harden told reporters at the SUPP Simanggang branch yesterday.

Harden who is also Simanggang assemblyman added that data in the village profile must also be updated by the JKKK at regular intervals.

In addition, he also said that the failure of any JKKK to submit their monthly report to the relevant agency would deem them to be dormant.

“That is why it is important for the JKKK to send in their report according to the time frame given,” he noted.

He also pointed out that the preparation for any report or village profile must be a collective effort of all JKKK members to make it more comprehensive.

Meanwhile, Harden also handed appointment letters to eight Chinese community leaders (Kapitan) at the SUPP Simanggang branch.

Among those present at the handover ceremony were Sri Aman Resident Jonathan Lugoh, Temenggong Sii Toh Peng and Penghulu Lee Siang Hua.
