Malaysia strongly condemns Israeli aggression in Gaza

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia yesterday condemned ‘in the strongest terms’ Israel’s continuing military aggression in Gaza since July 7 through a series of airstrikes and other military action, which has resulted in the deaths of 220 Palestinians, among them women and children, and injury of more than 1,500 others.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, in a statement, said Malaysia urged all parties involved to refrain from provocative acts.

He also called on the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, to act swiftly and decisively to demand that Israel cease its disproportionate aggression on Palestine.

“It is imperative that both sides restore calm immediately to avoid greater destruction and further loss of lives, especially among the civilian population in the Gaza Strip,” he said.

Anifah also said that the Palestine Humanitarian Trust Fund established in 2002 under the purview of Wisma Putra was ready to receive financial donations from the public. He said the accumulated donation would be channelled to the Palestinian people via the relevant international bodies to help ease their suffering.

All donations could be channelled to the CIMB Islamic Bank account number 8600302489. — Bernama
