Korean students do six-month internship at Meritz Hotel

MIRI: Meritz Hotel recently received two Catholic University of Korea students for a six-month overseas internship programme.

They will have the opportunity to experience and understand how different departments such as sales and marketing, human resources, finance, kitchen, food and beverages, front office, as well as security and engineering, function in the hotel.

The programme aims to provide a platform for more cultural exchange opportunities as well as promote Miri.

The overseas internship programme started in 2011 with 11 students from Hanshan Normal University, China.

Meritz Hotel director Datuk Prof Lau Siu Wai is looking at bringing in students from Australia in future.
