The Malaysian lawn bowls team added a silver to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games medal tally through Fairul Izwan Abd Muin/Muhammad Hizlee Abdul Rais from the men’s Pairs on Monday.

Fairul and Hizlee lost to Scotland’s Paul Foster/Alex Marshall 20-3 in the final of the men’s Pairs at the Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls centre.

The bronze medal in the event went to Andrew Knapper/Sam Tolchard from England.

“I must admit that the Scottish pair was a strong outfit. They controlled the match well. We were playing them for the first time.

Though we are disappointed with not winning the gold, we are happy to have contributed a silver medal.

“For me personally, this is my best achievement in the men’s Pairs,” said Fairul Izwan who is also the skipper of the team. — Bernama
