Bruneian, 54, dies after collapsing during 5km fun run

KUCHING: A 54-year-old Bruneian participating in the inaugural Kuching Marathon 2014 collapsed at Jalan Muhibah during the event’s 5km fun run segment this morning.

He was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital and reached there by 7am but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

He arrived in Kuching last Friday with friends.

He was one of the 5,500 expected participants for the event which are divided into four categories: the 42KM (full) marathon, 21KM (half) marathon, 10KM marathon and 5KM fun run.
