Tiong, Salang meet the people in Rh Unjah Mani

SIBU: Acting president of Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing yesterday visited longhouse Rh Unjah Mani in Nanga Luau near Pakan.

While there, he and Julau MP Datuk Joseph Salang chaired a meet-the-people session that was also attended by SPDP Wanita chief Datuk Chiew Yien Chew and Meluan SPDP Wanita head Elizabeth Ting.

At the function, Tiong and Salang each contributed a grant of RM5,000 to the 21-door longhouse for buying housing materials.

Ting donated a wheelchair to a resident of the longhouse and handed over new membership application forms to Tiong. Wanita SPDP Meluan has 1,408 members.

Earlier, Tiong and Salang attended the opening ceremony of the Nanga Luau Seventh Day Adventist Church where they each gave RM5,000 to the church improvement fund.

President of the SDA church in Sarawak, Lawrence Banyi was also present.
