KUCHING: Sarawak State Sports Comissioner (SSC) Lamat Nyalau was in Kapit to conduct a course last weekend.
He told The Borneo Post yesterday that various sports associations in the division need to have the proper know-how in running a sports association.
“There are many enthusiastic sportsmen and sportswomen from this division. Therefore we need more sports associations here to cater for their needs,” he added.
He also reminded sports associations that forming a sports association is not the last step.
Associations, he stressed, should be managed and run professionally as well.
Lamat said he made the trip to Kapit to brief interested parties on the Sports Development Act 1997.
The course was attended by representatives of the various sports associations in Kapit.
