Workshop broken into, CCTV records four burglars wearing helmets

SIBU: Four thieves on motorcycles broke into a car workshop at Merlin Lane here at 6am yesterday and got away with RM4,500 in loot.

Four thieves clad in helmets at the front door of the workshop burglarised .

CCTV footage catches one of the four thieves quickly covering his face with his shirt when caught without his helmet.

The four with helmets on went to the back of the premises but failed to break the door. They were subsequently caught on CCTV when showing up at the front of the premises later.

One of them removed his helmet and quickly covered his face with his shirt after he spotted the CCTV camera.

They pushed the CCTV device away before cutting the front door padlock to gain entry.

The shop owner estimated losses at RM4,500 which included RM150 in cash, a gas cylinder for air-conditioner, a CCTV device, 10 bottles of oil, a power bank, a machine and other tools.

Meanwhile, police caught nine persons and seized 22 computers in raids on two cyber gambling dens Wednesday night.

The police raided the two cyber outlets at Poh Yew Road and Alan Road at 7.30pm.

The detainees were aged between 20 and 40.
