Two motorcyclists break their legs in collisions

Medics lifting the victim who suffers a broken leg after an accident at Mile 4 Jalan Penrissen — on a stretcher before bringing him to hospital.

KUCHING: Two motorcyclists broke their legs in two separate accidents here on Saturday night.

In the first accident, a 25-year-old man was riding along Jalan Stephen Yong heading to Airport Road when his motorcycle collided with a car near a traffic light at Batu 4, Jalan Penrissen.

According to witnesses, the car was heading towards Batu 6 from Jalan Stephen Yong and had passed the traffic light before the collision at the junction around 11pm.

He was thrown from the bike and suffered a broken right leg.

A passer-by called an ambulance, which sent him to Sarawak General Hospital.

In the second accident near Kampung Bintawa, the victim in his 20s also suffered a broken leg after his vehicle rammed a van parked by the roadside.

In the around midnight incident, the victim plunged from the bike after ramming the rear of the van.

Passers-by who saw the incident called Rescue 911 Unit which sent a paramedic team and ambulance to the scene.

He was sent to hospital for treatment.
