Big bikers start exploring Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman flagged off the Ride and Explore Sabah – a gateway into the world of Borneo event at the compound of his official residence, Sri Gaya here yesterday.

Big bikers from Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia are taking part in the event which is organised by Infrad Adventure Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Sabah Tourism Board in conjunction with the Malaysia Day celebration on September 16.

The five-day event will take them to Papar, Crocker Range, Keningau, Nabawan, Tawau, Semporna, Lahad Datu, Sandakan, Telupid, Ranau, Kundasang, Kota Belud, Kudat and Simpang Mengayau and back to Kota Kinabalu on September 16.

While in Tawau, they will attend the bikers festival.

The bikers are led by a well-known blogger, Rocky Bru or his real name, Datuk Akhiruddin Atan who said the purpose of the ride is to do some recee on expedition route by international big bikers which will be organised by Infrad early next year.

Akhiruddin who is also the editor advisor to The Malaysian Reserve newspaper, added the other purpose of the international bikers expedition to be held in Sabah next year is to promote Sabah as a tourist destination for big bike sport and also to carry a message of global unity.

Also present at the brief launching were the chairman of the Sabah Tourism Board, Datuk Joniston Bangkuai and officials from the Infrad Adventure Sdn Bhd and Sabah Tourism Board.
