UCTS undergraduates ready to start Sept intake

SIBU: About 200 new students registered with University College of Technology (UCTS) for the September intake session 2014/2015.

The students enrolled into nine bachelor degree programmes offered under the School of Engineering and Technology, School of Built Environment, School of Computing and School of Business and Management.

The September intake also saw the first batch of students registering in new programmes namely Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Accountancy, Bachelor of Computer Science (Network Computing) and Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering).

During the welcoming ceremony recently, Vice Chancellor of UCTS Prof Dato’ Dr Abdul Hakim Juri stressed that the university has world class facilities and infrastructure providing students with excellent and conducive learning environment.

“In return, I hope students will use all the facilities provided wisely and responsibly for learning purposes,” he said.

Also present at the ceremony was UCTS Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Dato’ Dr Sabarudin Mohd, Deans of Schools and Heads of Departments.

The newly registered freshmen will undergo a 4-day orientation under the supervision of the Student Development and Services Department to prepare them to adapt to campus life before lectures begin Sept 22.

Although the registration day has ended, those who are interested to join the September intake can still enrol before end of the month.
