KUCHING: SJK Chung Hua No.6 headmistress Kho Bee Ling hoped Kuching Chung Hua Primary No.1 to 6 management committee would support the school’s plan to build a sheltered multi-purpose hall.

Management committee chairman Wong Tiong Hook (left) discussing the proposed sheltered multi-purpose hall. Kho is on fifth right.

She said the proposed project, estimated to cost RM800,000, was for the pupils to exercise and hold activities. The draft design of the hall had been completed, and she hoped the committee would support its activities to raise funds.

“We also hope parents could help us raise funds,” she said yesterday, when bringing the committee’s board members to inspect the proposed site.

On another matter, Kho said the school’s basketball court, windows, and running track need repair work. The school also needs a sheltered corridor at the back to enable parents to drop or pick their children. This would ease traffic congestion in front of the school.

Kho said the school would be re-painted soon to create a more conducive environment for study.

SJK Chung Hua No.6 has 71 teachers, 39 classrooms (pre-school to Primary Six), and 1,260 students (comprising 1202 Chinese, 15 Malays, and 43 from other races).
