Ta Ann Group gives RM100,000 to help needy students

SIBU: Ta Ann Group has contributed RM100,000 to Pusat Khidmat Masyarakat Dun Kemena to help needy students.

Ta Ann chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi and CEO Datuk K H Wong handed over a mock cheque for the amount to Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi Utom during a corporate dinner function recently.

The contribution is a way of financial assistance to the deserving and needy students in the Silas-Sebauh area.

Abdul Hamed pledged to make the contribution on a yearly basis for 10 years.

“We believe that education is the key to a better life. Therefore, it is important that all students including the underprivileged ones in rural areas have access to quality education.

“We have always been mindful of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and it is our hope that the contribution will help students in Silas-Sebauh area in getting quality education,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ta Ann Pelita Silas Plantation Sdn Bhd disbursed advance dividends amounting to RM1.371 million to 508 project participants in its Silas Sebauh Native Customary Rights (NCR) Oil Palm Project.

The company has been paying out this dividend on a yearly basis since 2010.

Ta Ann Pelita Silas Plantation Sdn Bhd is a joint venture company between Ta Ann and Pelita in the development of an oil palm project based on NCR concept in Silas-Sebauh area in Bintulu.
