KAPIT: Goh Chee Siong and Yeo Lin Lin have been crowned Hockien Song Karaoke Competition King and Queen respectively.
A total of 14 contestants took part in the competition, which was part of the Federated Sarawak Chiang Chuan Association’s biennial Sports and Recreational Carnival, on Friday.
Goh from the Saratok Chiang Chuan Association sang ‘Kopi-O’, while Yeo from the Miri Chiang Chuan Association performed ‘Love Without Condition’.
In second place for the men’s category was Sim Yon Chai (Miri), while Tan Ching Li (Mukah) was third.
Ho Le Ping (Bintulu) came in second for the women’s category, while third place went to Sia Pek Ha (Kapit). Some 300 participants representing 12 Chiang Chuan associations took part in the two-day carnival, which ended yesterday.
Other competitions were futsal, snooker, badminton, basketball, telematch, and folk dances.
