KINABATANGAN: The body of a man with slash wounds was found at the roadside of a plantation here around 10am on Saturday.

According to district police chief Superintendent A.Sahak Bin Rahmat, the unidentified deceased, believed to be in his early 30s, was found by the plantation’s supervisor and lorry driver as they were on their way home.

While passing by the area, they saw a motorcycle and a man lying on the ground with a black jacket covering his head and blood scattered around the area.

They then informed the plantation’s manager before alerting the police.

From initial inspection on the body, police found that the man died from slash wounds on his face, the back of his head and body.

Police also found that the sling bag carried by the man was unzipped and empty.

The body was sent to Lahad Datu Hospital for post-mortem.

Rahmat said the case would be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

He urged witnesses to help the police in investigating the case.
