MIRI: Miri Voice Idol is open for registration by those eager to unveil their singing talent.

Organised by Bintang Megamall and supported by VIVO, JIC Entertainment, Miri FM Chinese Service, Meritz Hotel and Eastern World Music Academy (KL), the inaugural singing contest is open to male and female contestants, age 16 years old to 35 years old.
“This is a special singing contest for us to discover young singers and hone their talent and stage performances to increase their confidence.
“Such an opportunity should not be wasted as we have great coaches to train young talent,” organising chairman Allen Wong who is Bintang’s senior event executive said in a press statement.
Wong said those who had taken part in other television singing contests are automatically disqualified from the contest.
As participation is limited to 20 entries, interested young singers should register early before the closing date on Oct 12. Registration fee per pax is RM50.
Wong said each participant must prepare two mandarin songs and an English song.
“The eliminating rounds will be done at the preliminary and quarter finals before selection for the grand finals to be held in Miri next month. The song selected must not be repeated,” Wong said on the rules of the contest.
Prior to the contest, participants will be called for rehearsal at 7pm on Oct 14, before the contest commences. Attractive prizes await including cash, trophy, hamper and certificate for the top three winners. There will be five consolation prizes of RM150, trophy, hamper and certificate.
The Best Dressed Performer will receive a RM200 cash prize with trophy, hamper and certificate.
