BESUT: Police detained 11 people, including a supplier of ketum juice, and seized six kilogrammes of ketum leaves and 50 packets of water, believed to be ketum juice, in an operation at Kampung Kuala Kubang, near Jabi, two days ago.
Besut district police chief Supt Khaled Che Lah said the suspects, aged between 20 and 40, were detained at a house belonging to the suspected ketum juice supplier, aged 40.
“After arresting the supplier, we waited at the house and arrested the 10 other suspects when they went there to get their supply of ketum juice,” he told a media conference here yesterday. — Bernama
