KUCHING: There will be a blood donation drive at Kuching Sentral this Sunday from 9am to 2.30pm.
The Oct 26 event is jointly organised by the Federation of Kuching-Samarahan Chinese Association Youth, H & L Retail Sdn Bhd, Kota Padawan Hash House Harriers and Harriettes (KPH) and the Youth Section of Chung Hua School No.1 Alumni Association.
According to Chung Hua Middle School No.1 Alumni Association Youth committee Yeo Hao Ming, the first 350 people to donate blood at Kuching Sentral will receive a free mystery goodie bag.
“This is an act of acknowledgement for their generous charitable act and to encourage more donors to come forward.
“We welcome people from all walks of life, especially those healthy members of the public aged between 18 to 60 and weigh more than 45kg to come forward and support the good cause.
“In a way, it is geared towards helping the Sarawak General Hospital to replenish a constant shortage of useful blood, as well as to encourage new donors to join in the social charity drive,” he said in a press statement.
Yeo revealed that throughout last year, the Federation of Kuching & Samarahan Chinese Association Youth organised a total of 348 registrations of self-initiated blood donation drives together with Chung Hua Middle School No.1 Alumni Association Youth.
“The blood donation drive is one of the annual charity events in the association’s agenda. The association has organised numerous blood donation of this sort in the past years, all of which were successfully carried out with overwhelming results,” he said, thanking all the sponsors for their generous support of the event.
