Cooperate with police in fighting crime

BINTULU: Bintulu police chief Supt Abdul Razak Mohammad yesterday called the public to cooperate with the police to fight crime in the division.

“So far the crime rate here is under control and there is no need to worry but extra efforts are needed to fight crime,” he said after witnessing the handover of duty from acting deputy police chief, ASP Jame Reis to new deputy police chief, DSP Lim Kwai Seng at Bintulu police headquarters here.

Razak said it is important for the police to have good relations with the public to combat crime at all levels.

He hoped the media can work closely with the police, particularly in giving any information or tip-off.

Lim who is experienced in the police force promised to carry out his duty and help the police chief take care of the security and safety of the people in Bintulu.

“I am calling for cooperation from all parties; help the police so we can make Bintulu peaceful and hopefully achieve zero crime which is our ultimate goal.

“We cannot work alone so let us work together happily,” said Lim who is from Kuala Lumpur
