MIRI: Limbang District Council will hold a meeting with shop operators and owners in the town to ensure their signboards or any form of signage use the correct form of Bahasa Melayu (BM).
Limbang walikota Sufian Mohat said the meeting would be held at the end of this year.
“This is an important meeting in the council’s effort to position Bahasa Melayu in a proper manner besides ensuring the language is used correctly in every signboard and advertisement,” Sufian told reporters at the launch of ‘Senyum’ Campaign in Limbang yesterday.
On the campaign, Sufian said it was timely as the government wanted all civil servants in the front line to ‘serve with a smile and politeness’.
“I hope this campaign will not end up just like that after the period is over, but should be practised at all times,” he added.
He reminded the people that smiles were most easy to give.
