KOTA KINABALU: Eighteen power-packed aspiring singers took to the stage in a hard fought final of the Sweet Memory Idol last week.

Terence Asangki in a glimmering costume backed by two sequined and rogynous dancers, stole the show and the judges’ hearts when he out-sang and out-danced the other singers with his powerful
and melodious vocals. He brought home RM1,000 cash, a trophy, certificate and a Chivas worth RM600.

The first runner-up was Hadi Jaidi with his very entertaining and well-choreographed ‘Bunyi Gitar’ while the second runner-up was Keningau’s Valen Lo, also a veteran in Chinese singing competition.

The Best Showmanship went to Casey Lum while Keningau’s Anna Chia and Jackson Sadival of Penampang won the Best Costume and Most Popular awards respectively.

The management of Sweet Memory Lounge announced that there will be a Sweet Memory Idol season 2 next year and a singing competition especially for veterans 45 years and above.
