Workers find python in bush

SIBU: Workers clearing land at an oil palm plantation in Selangau bumped into a python about five metres long yesterday morning, and used an excavator to tow it out of the bush.

One of them, Nia, said the snake was about 50kg.

“We were busy clearing land when a fellow worker shouted upon seeing the snake,” she told reporters.

She said the snake did not make any effort to move away.

“Probably, it just had a meal,” she suggested.

Nia said she used her cellphone to video record the process of getting the snake out of the bush using an excavator.

“Finding a snake in the course of our work is normal. But this latest find was the biggest I ever saw,” she said.
